The Jobsite: Locating the Underground
at The Utility Expo, Louisville KY, October 7-9, 2025
Planet Underground is returning to The Utility Expo once again to host The Jobsite, where we have installed over 1000 feet of buried pipe plus 12 handholes over previous years at the Expo. Our area is perfect for companies who locate underground utilities–whether that be with EM locators, GPR, SUE, vacuum excavation or even heavy machinery, because what better chance is there to demo your product on what is essentially a real Jobsite? Not to mention, this “Jobsite” is at a trade show with 21,000+ attendees! And, since our area is meant to be educational through demonstration, AEM will be bringing their highly popular “walking classrooms” for a tour of The Jobsite. Here classroom participants can see presentations from various sponsors on their products and services.
In 2021, The Jobsite utility service providers worked collaboratively to safely install 900’ of 2” pipe and conduit. This buried infrastructure set the stage for The Jobsite 2023: Mapping the Future of Damage Prevention. The Jobsite assembles the technology and methods to reduce underground utility strikes, all in one place, at one time, for the benefit of all stakeholders.
The Jobsite is located at the midpoint of Lot K and Lot E, just outside Broadbent Arena and features a relaxed, peer-to-peer learning environment promoting a hands-on approach to learning new methods and technologies.
The Jobsite Educational Sessions
While educational sessions are scheduled, hands-on demos can be performed anytime and anywhere within The Jobsite.
The Jobsite is a filmed event, so the education provided can be viewed by an even larger audience than that at The Utility Expo.
