Cross bore mitigation demonstrations were part of The Roundtable Live! event August 9, 2018 at Planet Underground. For example, in this particular demonstration, a live utility strike was staged involving a horizontal directional drill cross bore through a sewer lateral. During the demos, we talked to an excavator and a utility company representative about best practices to avoid cross bores. They spoked about educating new workers to the industry on the dangerous risks to life and property that can result.
